Welcome to the Reggae Coast: Bentota Gears Up for South Asia’s Historic One Love Festival

If there is one sound that embodies the spirit of freedom, unity, and tropical tranquility, it is reggae. And this March, that soulful rhythm will find a new home on the golden shores of Sri Lanka. Get ready to welcome a new identity for our southern coastline, as Bentota prepares to make history.

Branded as the new "Reggae Coast, " Bentota is set to host South Asia’s first-ever three-day reggae music festival —the One Love 2026 – A Tribute to Bob Marley. Slated for March 27–29, 2026, this isn’t just a concert; it is a landmark moment that positions our local shores as a global destination for music tourism .

A Line-Up for the Legends

For three evenings, starting at 5:00 p.m. each day, the Bentota beachfront will transform into a vibrant hub of international culture. The festival brings together an unprecedented gathering of global reggae royalty. Headliners include the legendary The Wailers, the iconic voice of Maxi Priest, and the direct legacy of the Marley family with performances by Julian Marley and Ky-Mani Marley .

Completing this stellar line-up are Grammy-winning group Inner Circle and reggae fusion pioneers Big Mountain, ensuring that every night offers a journey through the history and future of reggae.

More Than Music: A Movement

This event, organized by One In A Million Entertainment in collaboration with Caribbean Entertainment, is being positioned as a major cultural milestone. It not only celebrates what would have been Bob Marley’s 81st birthday but also reinforces the deep cultural resonance reggae has always had in Sri Lanka .

By drawing thousands of international visitors—from India, the Maldives, Bangladesh, and long-haul Western markets—the festival is set to put Bentota on the map as the "Reggae Coast." This rebranding signifies a shift toward high-profile destination tourism, blending the natural beauty of our coastline with world-class entertainment .

A Cause to Celebrate

Beyond the music, the One Love festival carries a torch for philanthropy. A portion of the proceeds will support a children’s orphanage water purification project in Sri Lanka, as well as initiatives by the Bob and Rita Marley Foundation in Jamaica. It’s a beautiful reminder of reggae’s roots in social consciousness and unity .
